About Me
Sawubona! It’s great to have you here.
I’m Claire Tucker; South African, Christian, and story nerd with a passion for hunting down pesky grammatical errors. I’m also an unashamed fan of The Lord of the Rings and have a to-be-read pile that takes up several shelves.
Words and the rules governing the English language have fascinated me since childhood, and stories have been a part of my life ever since I was introduced to them. One of my passions as an editor is to help authors tell their story well, and one of the ways this is done is by ensuring that your manuscript is free of unnecessary spelling and grammar mistakes. A comma in the wrong place can change your meaning drastically and a misspelled word can jerk your reader from the story you’ve poured your soul into.
I love editing action and adventure fiction, fantasy, historical fiction, and stories that dare to tackle the hard questions of faith and life. One of my passions is to ensure that stories flow logically while obeying the underlying laws of story structure.
When I’m not disappearing into fictitious worlds, I’m either planning an adventure or trying to go on one. I’ve been SCUBA diving with sharks and hope to one day find the dragon that lives in the beautiful Drakensberg. Other interests of mine include music, dance, science, history, natural medicine, and a variety of crafts.
Most importantly, I am a born-again child of God. My faith underpins what I do and my goal is to do this adventure called life with God, following where He leads and obeying His Word, the Bible, wherever that may lead. You can read more in my statement of faith.
